OCIC
Order of Christian Initiation for Children
OCIC (formally known as RCIC) is the process involving “Christian Initiation of Children Who Have Reached Catechetical Age.” OCIC utilizes the same process as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, but with adaptations for children.
Through the OCIC process children prepare to receive the sacraments of initiation and enter the Catholic Church.

Who is OCIC for?
- All Children who are not Baptized.
- All Children who have been Baptized of another Christian faith who would like to become Catholic.
- All Children who have been Baptized in the Catholic Faith but did not receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist when they became of catechetical age (typically done in their 2nd grade year).
Whether your family is just entering the Church, is returning after time away, have decided as a family to delay your children’s sacramental preparation, or any other circumstance, all are welcome to come join our MBS community!
